Our findings

This research paper, written by our founder Thalya Kakish, explores the complex relationship between indigenous rights, government policy, and NGO advocacy in Uganda - with a focus on the Batwa tribe. Drawing from in-depth interviews with government officials and NGO leaders, as well as direct field experience, the paper examines how displacement, cultural erosion, and legal exclusion have impacted the Batwa.

Using key global politics concepts such as human rights, sovereignty, equality, and sustainability, the study provides a multi-perspective analysis of the challenges faced by indigenous communities, and the crucial role of local organizations in defending their ancestral lands and heritage.
